One of the biggest problems newspapers face today is never reported. The CEOs and publishers running these papers are, of course in most cases, people in their late 50s and early 60s. Their sole motivation is to save their jobs and bonuses until they retire within 5 to 10 years. They don't care what mess they leave for the next guy or the mess they leave behind in newsrooms. That's why these CEOs and publishers can't accept reality. They want to defer it as long as possible to save their own bankrolls. It's really that simple.
